About This Project

This project is conceived and orchestrated by the following people. Kirsten Nelson is Editor-in-Chief and Writerly Salon Host; and Sundar Raman is Creator and regular contributor. This project is also the work of all the contributors to every episode.

The authors of CreativeStack are nodes in a very wide network of motley experts, inspirers, innovators, artists, technologists, producers and all-around crazy humans who know about a thing called “Experience Design.” It’s a term that’s been tossed around for a bit — sort of means nothing, and everything. It’s the term that niche studios in co-hab workspaces use to promote their boutique way of doing design work. And now it’s even a term multinational consulting corporations use as a way to enhance their offerings.

Woohoo! This means Experience Design has arrived, baby!

The point is there’s serious momentum behind it, and we think it’s a good time for us to connect with all the people that work to really bring this field to life.

CreativeStack is the weird jungle-gym at the playground where the amalgam of creative coders, experience designers, event producers, roadies and everyone in-between coalesce to share and rant and learn.

Each Episode of this CreativeStack Substack will cover actively deployed creative projects, dig into the behind-the-scenes, interview people in the field (both notable and otherwise), and of course provide a range of perspectives.

We fully intend to leave you with a warm glow in your creative gut!

Why subscribe?

If you’re reading this you’ve either

  1. Been spammed by one of your less scrupulous friends who believed that you would benefit from learning about the “immersive and engaging experience practices” that are taking over the world; or

  2. Been identified as a connoisseur of Experience Design with the discerning taste and design aesthetics that makes you an expert in the domain

In either case we hope this Substack, CreativeStack, makes your creative juices flow.

We, the authors of CreativeStack, intend to create something that we would want to receive ourselves. We’re creating what we wished already existed! On some level we think you will probably want to read it too.

Why should you subscribe? Because we want you to both gain from what we’re writing, AND give us feedback and contributions so we can make this thing that much better.

So please do subscribe. We can’t promise it’ll change your world, but we certainly hope it expands your view with every episode.

Thank you!
